Did you ever have an action man, or GI Joe that you wanted to know what would happen if you threw him off the roof with his parachute on to see if it really worked. Did you ever go that extra step to see just what he could take.
This Shadowhawk Torture Test by Max  has tested equipment to see if it works, but  thats not enough, Ie have gone the extra step and really tortured it.
I dont have a formal test program, and  dont take too much notice of the technical details, although I do like to know the important bits. The sales literature doesnt come into it, nor does the price. 
To put it simply, if I am going to use it, and endorse it, its got to take some pretty big punches, and survive. Whilst its got the MTT endorsement , its doesnt mean that other equipment is inferior. Often kit is a personal preference, and even within my instructors  each has different opnions their gear. It can come down to milimeters, and each human is different.  The  Max torture test list, doesnt name products that dont make the grade. The tests are not there to put products down, just the opposite.  I want products to make it onto the list and I have worked with manufacturers to improve the product design, material and function
There is no supreme product, and often within the same continent, there will be several kit-rolls. I have several pairs of boots, each for a different biome
