Survival & Tracking Skills Course

The Shadowhawk Survival and Tracking Skills Course is specifically designed to equip trackers with the skills to track and travel in remote areas. This unique course involves living, learning and working from several locations within the school’s training centre using different camp styles and practising static and mobile survival techniques.

Combining these skills with the Shadowhawk Foundation Course in Tracking will give you an unrivalled set of tools which you can take out into other environments allowing you to build your tracking abilities and really experience the
world of the tracker.

Shadowhawk was founded by Ian “Max” Maxwell, a lifelong specialist in wildlife tracking, and trains trackers in the UK and all around the world. Max has trained and tracked with some of the world’s finest trackers including Apache, Navaho, Maaisai, Ngoni, Kalahari Bushmen and Australian Aboriginals.

As the school has evolved Max has built an experienced and competent team of instructors and mentors who will support you in your training. They will immerse you in the world of the tracker and help you to discover your other home - in the wild.

The Shadowhawk Survival Skills & Tracking Course provides you with all the skills you need to get out – live out and track on your own. The course takes place over six days and covers a huge variety of topics including the following:

In 2008 this course is running with the Advanced Tracker Course at the shadowhawk Training Centre in Portugal.
