So that we can track in every environment on earth, we need a good selection of boots( Ok its a boot fetish!).
Boots that I use in the bush in Africa are very different to boots I would wear in deep snow tracking. Much to my surprise the sole on my high hunting boots is coming away from the boot. Disaster,,,or at least could have been.
At least I can get the sole glued back on.
Having checked that the boots still fit, I put on exactly the kit I will wear in Poland, plus ankle weights( to replicate walking through snow) . I then set off for the North Cornish Coast path. At its best its is very up and down, plus stunning scenery.
Its a great place, and I have always returned to the coast path to get my eye in before a course or expedition.
So now the focused training begins. Changing habits and routines helps , and its always worth starting very early mornings
