I see as part of training and conditioning for a tracker. If you can handle the elements you stand a very good chance of closing the time-distance gap on your quarry, as they seek shelter.
It was terrifying being on the sea, the winds were ferocious and powerfull squalls. At one point I was beginning to think it was a bit fool-hardy to go out, and was considering my survival options, when broadside on I was hammered by a rogue wave. The crest washed straight over the kayak, taking me with it.
A number of years ago I washed out of a boat on the Zambezi. All I wanted to was to swim reallly fast and get back into the boat before the eddies, where crocs lie-up.
Just the same, one moment in the sea, the next back in the kayak.
It was hard work today, and now Im back on terra-firma, Im feeling a bit more confident.
Feeling good about the elements, and a good workout to boot!
