With tracking wildlife in Poland, coming up I am in the throws of reviewing my clothing. The plan is King of The Mountain Bushman Shirt(outer), Merino 70/30 Mid and Merino 100% skin.
I put the 70/30 top on at the show and wore it back to base. I was carrying a 35litre back-pack. To my amazement the 70/30 blend top had pilled dramatically in one day. I am sure it will only get worse. Whilst the top may still be thermally efficient, I am afraid that it looks bad. Some would say that its never on view and only being used where fasion is not high on the list. Thats true, but there are better fabrics out there. I have used my Icebreaker Merinos in the Himalayas and India, carrying heavy loads, and they arnt showing any signs of pilling.
Other clothing I am trying is bamboo socks and tops. So far , so good, I am impressed.
